OUR STORY

The Cluck we know and love today was hatched in 1988 in LA. While we have gone through some changes (don’t you hate those awkward years!), we have stayed true to – a philosophy of “Better for you is delicious here!”, and to being the embodiment of “Life Unfried”.

Our family grew through the years with KKRoo restaurants topping 20 in 1997, making a 90% purchase of Arrosto coffee then adding Color Me Mine; a chain of craft stores (we said we grew, we didn’t say anything about being smart). Also in 1997 the company purchased Hamburger Hamlet.

In 2003, Michael Cannon purchased this great KooKooRoo brand. Several years before, Michael had purchased Fuddruckers, Yummmm. Since then, we have been busy, busy. All the while, staying fixated on our roots as THE better for you Life Unfried option with all the flavor SoCal can dole out!

You will find the most craveable rotisserie, in multiple flavors, and our famous bone-in, skinless charbroiled chicken breast. We have upscaled our bread offerings to artisan zero trans fat yummy breads. Our delicious hot and cold sides rotate through the year to make sure we are offering the freshest products available. KooKooRoo is home to the famous Ross Squash!

We are proud of our heritage. We don’t follow. We were trendsetters in 88 with out Life Unfried commitment, and we are following our core belief today. You have heard about and maybe are a healthy success story that KKR was a part of. This excites us. We are YOUR brand. YOU are what makes us who we are. You are what compels us. You complete us.

We are proud to call SoCal home. Born and raised. We will spread our message of Life Unfried to the world (Hey, send an email – man, we’ve come a long way since Paul Revere!).
